Following a brief hiatus, we are delighted to welcome Sheryl Jones back at Safety n Action. Here is what Sheryl has to say about her work in supporting a safer New Zealand for generations to come.
As a Business Development Manager in the Auckland region, I have the privilege - and responsibility - of helping to improve New Zealand’s historically poor health and safety culture.
It’s a role I am extremely passionate about, and in the nine years, I’ve been with the organisation I have learnt a lot about what it takes to achieve safer workplaces for New Zealanders. I have the expertise to determine where your organisation’s training gaps are and will work with you to develop a targeted training programme specific to your needs. Our highly regarded courses will not only help your organisation comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015), but they’ll boost the welfare and satisfaction of your employees. In short, our programmes keep people safe.
I came to Safety ‘n Action in 2010 having pursued a cornucopia of career paths, from photographer, kindergarten teacher and tour guide, to event organiser, real estate representative and hospitality professional! My chameleon-like ability to adapt quickly to any role, and my talent for problem-solving and empowering others, has seen me succeed and grow across all these industries. Better still, the experience and skills I gained along the way prepared me well to benefit the team at Safety ‘n Action, initially as part of the customer services team, and now in my role as Business Development Manager.
I’ve always been a great communicator and pride myself on the fantastic relationships I have built with my key account clients. I love meeting new people and sharing my knowledge, expertise and energy to help organisations understand why workplace health and safety is so important.
