The course covers the roles and principals, functions and structures and the terms used in the CIMS framework. The Introduction to CIMS course is recommended for all people involved in any aspect of emergency response. The Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) provides the structure for the command, control and coordination response to an emergency incident, so all personnel should have a basic understanding of the principles of CIMS, its terminology and key functional areas
