Get to know Darryn one of our South Island Relationship Managers. Here’s what he has to say about building trusted partnerships, supporting safer workplaces, and helping businesses get the most out of their training.
Darryn Hintz is Safety ’n Action’s Relationship Manager covering a broad South Island region, from Ashburton through to Blenheim, including the West Coast. New to the Safety ’n Action team, he brings a strong background in high-risk industries, with five years in the waste sector and twelve years in the chemical industry.
With over 15 years of experience in staff management roles, Darryn understands the realities businesses face when it comes to keeping people safe while maintaining productivity. His approach is very much relationship led. He focuses on getting to know his clients, making them feel comfortable, and gaining a clear understanding of their current requirements before identifying how Safety ’n Action can support them further.
He has a particular interest in chemical safety and hazardous substances training, areas where his industry experience adds real value. As he continues to build relationships across his region, he enjoys learning about different industries and helping organisations strengthen their health and safety capability through practical, compliant training.
What motivates Darryn most is the bigger picture. He believes health and safety is about looking after people so they can go home safe at the end of the day, and he is proud to be part of a growing industry that helps make that happen.
Outside of work, Darryn has been married for 27 years and is the proud father of two daughters who both live overseas. He enjoys staying active, following sport, and unwinding with a good book.
