How long does it take to get a Class 2 licence in NZ?

If you already have a Class 2 learner's licence, you can complete your full Class 2 truck licence in just 2 days with Safety’n Action. If you don't have your learner’s licence, you'll need to register for our 3-day course.

What does the Class 2 truck licence course include?

Our course offers comprehensive training, including NZQA Unit Standards 24089 (Fatigue Management & Logbook) and 17574 (Operating a Rigid Vehicle). It also includes theory lessons and practical assessments with one of our automatic Class 2 trucks, led by NZTA-approved instructors.

What vehicles can I drive with a Class Two licence?

A Class Two licence allows you to drive vehicles weighing up to 18,000 kg GVM or vehicles with two axles. This includes medium-sized trucks, delivery vehicles, and specialist vehicles.
