This course is based on coaching and assessment only and is designed for trainees with experience in crawler crane operation.
Operating a Crawler Crane is a specialised skill. On course completion trainees will be able to apply theory and skills in lifting and placing loads with an overhead crawler crane and analyse and evaluate processes, through practical experience.
Please bring along your ID - We need to verify the identity of students in attendance, please bring ID with you on the day of training.
- Demonstrate knowledge of using a track crawler crane
- Carry out daily and weekly safety and maintenance of a track crawler crane with a lattice boom
- Configure and position a track crawler crane
- Lift and place regular and irregular loads with a track crawler crane
- Place a track crawler crane with a lattice boom in out-of-service condition, and complete documentation
Prerequisites
- Attendees must hold the following NZQA Unit Standard:
Unit Standard: 3789 - Sling varied regular loads and safely direct a crane during crane operations.
Experience Required:
- Verified experiences from authorised verifier documented and observed lifts, or company documents with a minimum of 40 lifts (slinging and directing placement of load) with at least six variations of lifting operations that may include site, crane, loads, and communication methods.
This documentation can be sent in at time of booking, ahead of training or post training.
Please note: this unit standard can only be awarded once this documentation is received.
All cranes, vehicles and equipment being used must have current certification, be well maintained and be in good/safe working condition for use.
