Understand the requirements for observing or entering confined spaces in the wine industry.

This course is designed for anyone working in, or around confined spaces in the wine industry. During the course you will gain important knowledge around the potential hazards found in this environment, as well as how to implement the necessary control measures. You will also carry out practical tasks, including entry and rescue procedures, with the plant and equipment used in the wine industry.

Please note this unit standard contributes 4 credits towards a NZ Certificate in Cellar Operations – Level 3.

Students need to have 3 months of work experience in the industry prior to doing the course.

Please bring along your ID - We need to verify the identity of students in attendance, please bring ID with you on the day of training.

  4. Demonstrate knowledge of the requirements for gas detection
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of the responsibilities of people entering a confined space or conducting observation duties
  6. Gain practical reinforcement of the knowledge and skills obtained during this training

Entry Criteria:

  1. All students are required to have a level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA level 1 (year 11) or IELTS 5.5 or higher, to be eligible to attend our courses. The person responsible for making bookings or authorising attendance on the course must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to acceptance of their student(s) onto the course. Where a student does not meet our English language requirement a reader/writer must be supplied by the student or the person responsible for authorising the student’s attendance. The reader/writer cannot be another student attending the same course.
