Refresher Information: To remain compliant with Health and Safety legislation and industry 'good practice' guidelines, students are generally required to refresh their training every two years. When booking a refresher course, Safety ’n Action will require evidence of the student's NZQA record of achievement displaying the relevant unit standard/s to the course they are attending.On successful completion of the course the students Go Safe card will be updated and reissued with a new refresher date. (Please note no unit standards will be uploaded to NZQA).
If students are unable to provide us with this information, they will need to attend a full course to gain the unit standard/s. Alternatively, if the student has completed prior training and does not hold the applicable NZQA unit standard/s, on request we can provide the student with an attendance certificate only.
Students need to have 3 months of work experience in the industry prior to doing the course.

It is delivered live by an experienced trainer and can be attended from anywhere in New Zealand using an internet-connected device.
This course is designed for workers who have previously completed the relevant NZQA fire extinguisher unit standards and need to refresh their competency. It is suitable for employees, supervisors, health and safety representatives, fire wardens, facilities staff, contractors, and anyone responsible for workplace fire safety.

Yes. The Fire Extinguisher Refresher Live Webinar is delivered in a live virtual classroom, allowing participants anywhere in New Zealand to complete the theory refresher remotely. You'll interact with your trainer in real time and can complete assessments electronically or by scanning handwritten work if required.
Participants must have previously completed the applicable NZQA unit standards being refreshed and may need to provide evidence of competency or an NZQA Record of Achievement. Students should also have at least three months of industry work experience before attending the refresher course.
If you cannot provide evidence that you previously achieved the required NZQA unit standards, you may need to complete the full Fire Extinguisher course instead of the refresher. In some circumstances, if previous training did not include NZQA unit standards, an attendance certificate may be available upon request.
The webinar is delivered over approximately 3 hours, including scheduled breaks. Because it is delivered online, you can complete the training from your workplace or home using a laptop, tablet, or mobile device with a reliable internet connection.
