Get to know our Asbestos Expert Trainer, Alannah Elliott. With extensive experience across asbestos surveying, laboratory analysis, clearance inspections and training, Alannah brings deep technical knowledge and a practical approach to helping people understand and manage asbestos risk.
Alannah Elliott is one of Safety ’n Action’s leading asbestos trainers, bringing extensive industry experience across asbestos surveying, laboratory analysis, clearance inspections, training and industry safety development.
Her expertise goes well beyond the training room. Alannah was part of the industry consultation group involved in reviewing New Zealand’s new suite of asbestos Good Practice Guidelines and contributed extensively to the Asbestos Assessment Good Practice Guideline, including practical photography demonstrating good practice.
She is a Licensed Asbestos Assessor, Full Member of the Faculty of Asbestos Management Australia New Zealand (FAMANZ), HASANZ registered and Commit2Fit competent. She also holds the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching and contributes to national core competency standards through the Education, Health and Community Industry Skills Board.
What sets Alannah apart as a trainer is her ability to turn a complex and often misunderstood subject into practical learning people can relate to. Her approach is hands-on, engaging and grounded in real industry experience, helping learners understand not only what they need to do around asbestos, but why it matters.
