Overview
This course will refresh your existing knowledge and use practical activities to reinforce your skills. You will also be updated on any new developments relating to the duties of a Fire and Emergency Warden.
Refresher Information: To remain compliant with Health and Safety legislation and industry 'good practice' guidelines, students are generally required to refresh their training every two years. When booking a refresher course, Safety ’n Action will require evidence of the student's NZQA record of achievement displaying the relevant unit standard/s to the course they are attending.On successful completion of the course the students Go Safe card will be updated and reissued with a new refresher date. (Please note no unit standards will be uploaded to NZQA). If students are unable to provide us with this information, they will need to attend a full course to gain the unit standard/s. Alternatively, if the student has completed prior training and does not hold the applicable NZQA unit standard/s, on request we can provide the student with an attendance certificate only.
Students need to have 3 months of work experience in the industry prior to doing the course.
Please bring along your ID - We need to verify the identity of students in attendance, please bring ID with you on the day of training.

Industry good practice recommends Fire and Emergency Warden refresher training every two years. Regular refresher training helps ensure wardens remain competent, understand current evacuation procedures and continue supporting workplace emergency preparedness and compliance.
This course is suitable for anyone who has already completed Fire and Emergency Warden training and needs to maintain their competency. It is ideal for Fire Wardens, Emergency Wardens, Health and Safety Representatives, supervisors, team leaders and employees responsible for workplace emergency evacuation procedures.
The course refreshes NZQA Unit Standard 18408 – Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency warden duties in the workplace. Upon successful completion, Safety 'n Action updates and reissues the participant's Go Safe card with a new refresher date. As this is a refresher course, no new unit standards are uploaded to NZQA.

Participants must have previously completed Fire and Emergency Warden training and be able to provide evidence of the relevant NZQA unit standard on their Record of Achievement. Students should also have at least three months of industry work experience before attending the refresher course. If previous competency cannot be verified, completing the full Fire and Emergency Warden course may be required.
The face-to-face Fire and Emergency Warden Refresher course is delivered over approximately two hours. Training can be delivered at Safety 'n Action training centres throughout New Zealand or onsite at your workplace for company bookings.
