Refresh the skills and knowledge to recognise emergencies, and comfortably be a first responder to provide a range of first aid treatment and basic life support.

This nationally recognised First Aid course will refresh you with the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform basic life support (CPR) and administer first aid to persons feeling the initial impact of bleeds, burns, fractures, soft tissue injuries, and poisons. In addition, you can recognise the warning signs and symptoms of someone who is experiencing the negative effects of a medical condition and be able to aid until the casualty recovers or emergency services arrive and take over.

This course is nationally recognised and incorporates the New Zealand Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Please bring along your ID - We need to verify the identity of students in attendance, please bring ID with you on the day of training.

Key Learning Outcomes:

  1. Provide basic life support and first aid.
  2. Understand the dangers of and secure an emergency scene.
  3. Assess the condition of and assist a collapsed or injured person(s).
  4. Control foreign body airway obstructions
  5. Apply basic first aid to a range of medical conditions
  6. Manage first aid in an emergency.

Entry Criteria:

  1. Students must be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR functions and will require use of both hands/arms. If you have students with physical limitations, please contact us to discuss.
  2. All students are required to have a level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA level 1 (year 11) or IELTS 5.5 or higher, to be eligible to attend our courses. The person responsible for making bookings or authorising attendance on the course must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to acceptance of their student(s) onto the course. Where a student does not meet our English language requirement a reader/writer must be supplied by the student or the person responsible for authorising the student’s attendance. The reader/writer cannot be another student attending the same course.
