This course will guide you through the selection and inspection of various fall arrest systems and relevant ropes and knots. There are also practical scenarios to ensure you understand the use, installation and disestablishment of proprietary height safety systems, anchor points, work positioning, restraint systems and developing and implementing a rescue plan.
Completing the legislation component of your training online allows you more time for practical training on site.
Students need to have 3 months of work experience in the industry prior to doing the course.

All students are required to have a level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA level 1 (year 11) or IELTS 5.5 or higher, to be eligible to attend our courses. The person responsible for making bookings or authorising attendance on the course must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to acceptance of their student(s) onto the course. Where a student does not meet our English language requirement a reader/writer must be supplied by the student or the person responsible for authorising the student’s attendance. The reader/writer cannot be another student attending the same course.

The Height Safety Advanced (1 Day) course is a nationally recognised working at heights training programme designed for workers who need advanced skills in installing, using and disestablishing temporary proprietary fall arrest systems. The course focuses on practical application of height safety equipment, anchor points, restraint systems and rescue planning, and includes NZQA Unit Standard 15757, with the option to complete Unit Standard 17600 (Height Safety Legislation) separately online.
This course is ideal for workers who regularly install or work with fall arrest systems, including roofers, construction workers, scaffolders, electricians, telecommunications technicians, maintenance workers, industrial workers, engineers, solar installers and anyone responsible for working safely at height. It is intended for learners who already hold NZQA Unit Standard 23229 and have at least three months of industry experience.
