Gain and understanding of your health and safety responsibilities to ensure the safety of visitors, friends, and whānau.

This seminar will help you to identify relevant legislation that may affect the Marae, including the difference between a volunteer worker, a volunteer association and the responsibilities and duties of a PCBU (Person or Company Business Undertaking). Practical activities will provide you with the ability to identify and manage risks, as well as the confidence to deal with a fire or emergency situation.

  2. Understand where to access useful sources of information
  3. Understand the duties of people and organisations that are associated with the Marae (PCBUs, volunteer associations, officers, volunteers, workers etc.)

  6. Identify classes of fire and associated fire suppression methods and techniques
