Learn essential first aid and CPR skills with our blended First Aid Level 1 Basic course.
Complete your online theory at your own pace, then attend a short, in-person practical to gain NZQA certification.
During this blended First Aid Level 1 Basic course, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge to perform basic life support (CPR) and provide first aid for injuries such as bleeding, burns, fractures, soft tissue damage, and poisoning. You’ll also learn to recognise medical emergencies like shock, stroke, or heart attack and assist until emergency services arrive.
The online theory component can be completed at your own pace (within 60 days). Once finished, you’ll attend a 4-hour face-to-face practical session to demonstrate your skills and achieve NZQA Unit Standards 6401 and 6402.
This course is nationally recognised and follows the New Zealand Resuscitation Council guidelines for first aid and CPR training.
Please bring along your ID - We need to verify the identity of students in attendance, please bring ID with you on the day of training.
Provide basic life support (CPR) and general first aid care
Identify hazards and respond to ensure the safety of yourself and others
Assess and assist a collapsed, injured, or unresponsive person
Control foreign body airway obstructions
Students must be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR functions and will require use of both hands/arms. If you have students with physical limitations, please contact us to discuss.
All students are required to have a level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA level 1 (year 11) or IELTS 5.5 or higher, to be eligible to attend our courses. The person responsible for making bookings or authorising attendance on the course must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to acceptance of their student(s) onto the course. Where a student does not meet our English language requirement a reader/writer must be supplied by the student or the person responsible for authorising the student’s attendance. The reader/writer cannot be another student attending the same course.
