Get hands-on first aid and CPR training with our First Aid Level 1 – Basic (Face-to-Face) course.
Learn how to respond to common medical emergencies such as bleeding, burns, fractures, and poisoning, and gain the skills to assist confidently until emergency help arrives.

During this First Aid Level 1 – Basic training, you’ll learn how to perform basic life support (CPR) and provide first aid for injuries such as bleeding, burns, fractures, soft tissue injuries, and poisoning. You’ll also learn how to identify signs of medical conditions like shock, stroke, or heart attack, and offer support until the person recovers or emergency services arrive.

Please bring along your ID - We need to verify the identity of students in attendance, please bring ID with you on the day of training.

Key Learning Outcomes:

  1. Provide basic life support (CPR) and essential first aid care

  2. Identify hazards and respond safely to protect yourself and others

  3. Assess and assist a collapsed, injured, or unresponsive person

  4. Control foreign body airway obstructions.

  5. Apply first aid for common injuries and medical conditions, including bleeding, burns, fractures, and poisoning

Entry Criteria:

  1. Students must be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR functions and will require use of both hands/arms. If you have students with physical limitations, please contact us to discuss.

  2. All students are required to have a level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA level 1 (year 11) or IELTS 5.5 or higher, to be eligible to attend our courses. The person responsible for making bookings or authorising attendance on the course must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to acceptance of their student(s) onto the course. Where a student does not meet our English language requirement a reader/writer must be supplied by the student or the person responsible for authorising the student’s attendance. The reader/writer cannot be another student attending the same course.

      First aid certificates in NZ are valid for two years, after which a refresher course is recommended to stay current and compliant.
