This course is a combination of Online and Face to Face Training.

Complete your theory component online in your own time (60 days provided), followed by an 8 Hour practical component.

This nationally recognised First Aid course will teach you the skill and knowledge to recognise emergencies, and comfortably be a first responder to provide a range of first aid treatment and basic life support in line with the New Zealand Resuscitation Council guidelines.

In a safe simulated environment, you will be able to assess the dangers to yourself, check the condition of collapsed or injured person(s) and gain confidence to perform CPR on an adult, child and infant.in an emergency. You will also review alternative methods for delivering rescue breaths and how to manage a victim of drowning.

Please bring along your ID - We need to verify the identity of students in attendance, please bring ID with you on the day of training.

Students must complete theory content online before attending 1 day face-to-face practical.

Key Learning Outcomes:

  1. Provide basic life support and first aid.

  2. Understand the dangers of and secure an emergency
    scene.

  3. Assess the condition of and assist a collapsed or injured
    person(s).

  4. Control foreign body airway obstructions.

  5. Apply basic first aid to a range of traumas and/or medical
    conditions.
  6. Manage first aid in an emergency.

Entry Criteria:

  1. Students must be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR functions and will require use of both hands/arms. If you have students with physical limitations, please contact us to discuss.
  2. All students are required to have a level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA level 1 (year 11) or IELTS 5.5 or higher, to be eligible to attend our courses. The person responsible for making bookings or authorising attendance on the course must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to acceptance of their student(s) onto the course. Where a student does not meet our English language requirement a reader/writer must be supplied by the student or the person responsible for authorising the student’s attendance. The reader/writer cannot be another student attending the same course.
